WHY DID I GET A GENERIC BRAND PRESCRIPTIONS EVEN THOUGH MY DOCTOR PRESCRIBED ME A BRAND NAME MEDICATION?

Unless your doctor specifies to dispense brand only, we will dispense the generic medication if available because often times the brand name is not covered by your insurance. You always have an option to get a branded drug but it may not be covered by insurance. Please let the pharmacy know before filling your prescriptions if you prefer a branded drug.

HOW DO I REFILL OR ORDER NEW PRESCRIPTIONS?

To refill medications, you are able to call or text in your refill requests to (760) 233-2100. If there are no refills, we will request it directly from your doctor.

New prescriptions with a hard copy can be dropped off at the pharmacy for processing. They can also be sent directly from your doctors office electronically or via fax to (760) 233-2105.

WILL MY INSURANCE COVER ANY PRESCRIPTION MEDICINE I PURCHASE?

It depends. Your insurance has a prescription formulary describing which medications are covered by the health plan. If the prescribed medication is not on the formulary or requires a prior authorization, we will work with your doctor and insurance to get it covered or have it changed to an alternative medication that is covered.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR PHARMACY AND A BIG CHAIN PHARMACY LIKE CVS / WALGREENS?

El Norte pharmacy is an independant pharmacy that can provide all the services a large retailer pharmacy does, but only better. We provide personalized care to our patients without the red tape that big corporations have. Our wait times are shorter, offer better customer service, accept most insurances, and provide other services like delivery that our competitors may not.

IS THERE A FEE FOR DELIVERY SERVICE?

No, there is no service for same day delivery. We deliver your prescriptions directly to your door within the city of Escondido. In addition, we can ship via USPS to any physical address. Coordination of time and place of delivery is easy, just give us a call!
